Method # 1: How To Fix DISM Tool Missing Files Error
To fix this missing files issue, proceed with the following steps:

- Launch the “command prompt” as an administrator privilege by selecting the option from the drop down menu “run as administrator”.
- Then type the following commands and press enter to execute:
dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image/ StartComponentCleanup
sfc /scannow
After executing the above commands, wait for the process to complete and when it completes successfully, then run the following command:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Now, the command will work.
Method # 2: Need To Upgrade Windows
If the above method not works, then you need to upgrade your windows. To do that, follow the steps below:
- Download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool.
- After downloading the file, run it as an “administrator”.
- Then simply proceed to follow the on-screen instructions. Accept the license and then click on “Upgrade this PC now” and proceed to click on “Next” button.
- The downloading process will start, wait for the process to complete and then it will install windows 10. Simply follow the on-screen instructions.
- After the installation gets complete, Just to check the problem is solved as there is no need to run DISM tool now, because you have a fresh copy of windows 10 installed on your computer now. You need to open the command prompt and then type the following:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
6. Run the above command just for checking purpose to see it works.
