Replacing The Corrupt machine.config file with Default file
The error occurs when windows tries to parse the machine.config file and can’t parse it because of the file being corrupted. Simply replace the machine.config file with default one. In this way, you will be able to get rid of this problem.
Steps to follow:
Simultaneously press windows+R key to open run dialogue box and type the following command:

“C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v2.0.50727\Config\”
Locate the “machine.config.default” file. Right click on it to copy the file and then paste it anywhere else or the to the desktop of your computer.
After that, go back to C:\\Windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v2.0.50727\Config\ and then all you need is to delete the corrupt “machine.config” file.
Click on “machine.config.default” file and then rename it to “machine.config”. You will be asked by your computer about this action. Just confirm it and proceed.
Then you need to move the “machine.config” file to C:\\Windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v2.0.50727\Config\.
After performing all the above steps, then simply close the explorer and restart your computer.
Hopefully, you will not receive this error again.
Reinstall Your Operating System
You should follow this methods in the case when the above method does’not work for you. In this method, you need to Reinstall your operating system. So that, everything goes back to default. This is the only option left, if the above method does’not work for you.
